Offered today by The Music Room: One Pioneer TX-6800 AM / FM Tuner. This was an entry-level unit from the era of killer RF sections. This particular unit has been completely recapped in the power supply (low impedance Panasonic caps) and signal path (Black Gate non-polar), and, as well, has all signal path resistors upgraded to PRP PR9732 units. It also has two of Bill Ammons' IF Filter Adders to make the RF section even better. Then it was aligned by Mike Williams of Radio X Tuners, perhaps the best alignment guy around. From a reception and sonic standpoint it can compete with today's tuners at easily 4x-5x its original retail price. I'm sure you'll plug it in and find this for yourself.
