The Frey 2 interconnect sets a new standard for excellence at its price point. It features more conductors inside each FEP air tube in what Nordost calls Dual Micro MonoFilament construction, which was first introduced in the Valhalla Reference Series.

Dual Micro MonoFilament describes the small FEP “thread” that spirals the length of each silver-plated 24AWG conductor, and in the case of Frey and Tyr in the Norse 2 Series, there are two of them in each tube. The monofilament thread centers the dual bare wires so that they are mostly touching air.

The result is the ideal electrically and mechanically controlled construction for ultra-fast, low-loss signal transfer. 

Frey 2’s design offers advanced shielding, blacker noise floor, and more detail, dynamic contrast and emotional impact. Increased weight and energy at the ends of the sound spectrum means more scale and greater drama during grandiose passages. 

As for resolution, the blacker backgrounds increase definition and intimacy, allowing you to hear further into the performance. Frey 2 the perfect interconnect for critical signal paths.

Frey 2 mates perfectly with other cables in the Norse Series, and the use of consistent technology and materials across a system can enhance effects and support synergy. A cable loom featuring Frey 2 interconnects, Heimdall 2 speaker cables and Tyr 2 power cables, for example, is a path to reference-level performance while managing a budget and maintaining a coherent cable solution.
