Other Notes: "I have spoken to a couple of experienced and knowledgeable audiophiles who have expressed serious reservations about the Rim Drive concept. I suspect that, like myself, they have long believed in isolating the motor from the platter using belts, and also like myself remember the imperfections of old idler drive designs. But I firmly believe that those apprehensions are groundless. Based on months of listening to the Rim Drive, and especially with the Classic platter, I know that they are a revolutionary step forward in record playback. Especially given the high prices of so many audio products, the relatively moderate cost of these improvements makes them essential to any serious vinyl lover with a VPI table that can use them. And, if you are contemplating the purchase of a new turntable, it would be near lunacy in my opinion not to give these exceptional products a careful audition. You can spend a lot more for less satisfying sound."
