Product Description:

The Clearaudio Signature stands out as a unique version of the Concept Signature, crafted specifically for the U.S. audience. It epitomizes the pinnacle of high-fidelity performance, offering unparalleled value. This turntable commemorates Clearaudio's remarkable 46-year journey at the forefront of vinyl playback, alongside Musical Surroundings' notable 33 and a third years in the realm of analog distribution.

The Signature is a synthesis of innovation and advanced material sciences, borrowing from the expansive Clearaudio turntable portfolio. Its notable features include the AiR 12v DC coreless motor, enhanced with a newly developed speed control system inspired by the prestigious Reference Jubilee turntable.

TSC Speed Control

The Signature introduces an innovative "Tacho-Speed-Control" mechanism that meticulously tracks the turntable's rotational speed, delivering immediate feedback to its controlling electronics. This allows the system to swiftly adapt to changes affecting playback speed, such as stylus resistance, belt tension, and environmental factors like friction and temperature changes. The TSC feature ensures automatic speed adjustments at startup, leveraging technologies pioneered in their Reference Jubilee and Master Jubilee models. For artists who need to fine-tune speed for pitch matching, the Signature offers a manual calibration option via a dedicated control located on the turntable's rear panel.

This leap in speed precision and auditory excellence is powered by the groundbreaking AiR 12v DC coreless motor. Its minimal inertia enables rapid acceleration without the hindrance of cogging torque, characteristic of traditional motors. Originally engineered for high-stakes fields like robotics and medical imaging, DC coreless motors now bring their exceptional performance to the world of audiophile-grade turntables.

IMS Motor Suspension

The Signature turntable employs a refined version of the O-Ring IMS (Improved Motor Suspension), inspired by their esteemed Jubilee series, to provide superior isolation of the AiR DC coreless motor, significantly reducing vibration. This feature, coupled with the shared AiR motor technology from the Performance DC and Concept turntables, merges both the mechanical prowess and aesthetic appeal of these models. Stability and vibration damping are further enhanced by the adjustable leveling feet, a design element borrowed from the Performance DC model.

At the heart of the Signature's design is a 30mm POM platter, elegantly resting on a precision-engineered aluminum sub-platter. This assembly is driven by a sleek, flat polished belt that interacts seamlessly with the TSC for accurate speed regulation. The turntable's structure is meticulously crafted, featuring a constrained layered plinth and a platter bearing system consisting of a hardened steel shaft in a sintered bronze sleeve, complemented by a Teflon thrust pad. This sophisticated bearing design is adopted from the globally acclaimed Concept turntable, which has enjoyed international success with over 20,000 units sold, testament to its exceptional quality and performance.

Linear Power Supply

The Professional Power 12v in sleek black, valued at $800, is specifically designed to enhance the performance of the Signature AiR motor and its intricate, self-regulating electronics, ensuring an even purer power supply. This premium transformer-based linear power supply is an adaptation of the Clearaudio Professional Power 24v, originally crafted for the higher voltage requirements of the Ovation and Innovation series equipped with 24V AiR motors.

The Professional Power 12V benefits from a vibration-damped toroidal transformer paired with rigid regulation to deliver exceptionally clean and stable power directly to the AiR motor. This setup allows for the use of preferred AC cables via an IEC power connector, enhancing customization options for audiophiles. Furthermore, it includes a grounding post for an additional earth ground point, reinforcing the system's safety and operational integrity. Designed with a specific focus on voltage requirements, a 120-volt version is made available for the U.S. market, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

Tonearm Options

The Signature turntable, in its elegant triple-black edition, offers the luxury of choosing between two sophisticated tonearms: the Tracer Black and the newly introduced Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber. Both tonearms are crafted with black carbon fiber arm tubes, marrying lightness with rigidity to minimize resonance and boost sonic clarity. These tonearms boast handmade Swiss bearings for vertical and lateral movements, a design borrowed from the precision of the watchmaking industry, featuring polished tungsten points resting on sapphire thrust pads. This setup ensures a smooth operation with a magnetic anti-skating force that is both mechanically isolated and effortlessly adjustable.

The Tracer Black tonearm sets itself apart with a precision bearing oriented at a 90-degree angle to the cartridge offset, facilitating improved tracking accuracy and enhanced stereo separation. Its aluminum headshell enlarges the mounting surface to maintain vibrational integrity and allows for simple azimuth adjustments, optimizing channel separation. An underslung counterweight enhances the tonearm's balance by aligning the center of gravity, thereby enabling precise tracking force adjustments. For connectivity, the Tracer employs Clearaudio Sixstream cables, culminating in gold-plated RCA plugs for superior sound transmission.

The Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm emerges as Clearaudio's benchmark for high-value tonearms, featuring a two-part aluminum headshell with adjustable azimuth. This design ensures precise stylus alignment for optimal stereo imaging. The tonearm is directly wired with Clearaudio Direct Wire cables, terminating in gold-plated RCA connectors to maintain the integrity of the musical signal. This tonearm stands as a testament to Clearaudio's commitment to delivering high-fidelity audio through innovative design and meticulous craftsmanship.
