The Naim Streaming Platform
At the core of the Mu-so 2nd Generation lies Naim's renowned music-streaming platform, meticulously developed by 25 engineers over 3 years to deliver exceptional performance across various music sources, including digital music collections, Internet radio, and streaming services like TIDAL and Spotify. This acclaimed innovation is exclusively integrated into Naim music-streaming products, including its Uniti range and dedicated network players like the flagship ND 555.
DSP - The heart of the System
Powering the Mu-so 2nd Generation is an all-new multicore Digital Signal Processor (DSP), offering 2000 MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) compared to the original Mu-so's single-core, 150MIPS DSP. This enhanced processing capability ensures a higher level of performance, enabling users to experience more from their music. Additionally, a new limiter algorithm has been developed to regulate the movement of each speaker driver at high volume levels, preserving music clarity and enhancing long-term reliability.
Optimized Speaker Drivers
The Mu-so 2nd Generation boasts 450 Watts of muOptimized Speaker Driverssic power driven by improved and meticulously optimized speaker drivers, the result of a collaborative effort between Naim and Focal R&D departments. Focal, renowned for its benchmark acoustic equipment since 1979, has elevated speaker-driver precision and performance to unprecedented levels.
95% Re-engineered
While retaining a similar exterior appearance, the Mu-so 2nd Generation has undergone substantial internal upgrades, with the majority of components being enhanced to elevate performance. The cabinet design has been re-engineered to increase internal volume by 13%, delivering deeper, more impactful bass. Furthermore, both the cabinet bracing and baffle moulding have been redesigned to enhance rigidity and control vibrations. The heat-sink fins, now more compact yet equally effective, feature Naim's patented technology discreetly incorporating the wi-fi antenna.
