This classic receiver is in beautiful condition. I rarely if ever use the word "mint" when describing the condition of gear from this era, but I am looking this over very carefully and do no see any signs of wear. The face is flawless. All lights are working except for the "speaker b" light. Functionally, it is perfect. All functions working with no distortion or static of any kind. Sound quality is superb. This one competes with the best of the best - you will not be disappointed. See photos for details.

Includes a copy of the instruction manual.

Description

With a parallel push-pull connection and low noise design, the SA-7100 achieves an output of 100W per channel (both channels driven into 8 ohms from 20 to 20,000 Hz with no more than 0.05% total harmonic distortion) for clear exciting sound reproduction.

The SA-7100 employs two independent power supplies with completely separate transformers for the tuner and class A operation preamp on the one hand, and the power amp, where power supply voltage fluctuates with output signal level, on the other. This ensures clear undistorted sound by preventing transient distortion arising from power supply fluctuation feeding back to the preamp when output levels change.

Furthermore, transient response characteristics have been improved by lowering power supply impedance thanks to the use of 22,000uF capacitors and large transformers.

This volume control is a 32-step precision attenuator type. Two-step audio muting adds to fine volume adjustment capability.

In the phono equalizer section, a high phono overload level of 350mV is attained with a ±35V high voltage power supply while RIAA deviation is kept to a mere ±0.2 dB by means of precision components. Phono S/N level is a high 80dB thanks to strictly selected low noise transistors.

Not only is the unit protected against shorted speaker terminals, the speakers themselves are also protected by a circuit that operates should DC drift appear in the amplifier. Furthermore, relay operated muting prevents disturbing speaker noise when the power is turned on and off.

The left and right channel output power meters feature logarithmically compressed scales that allow direct readings from lowest to highest levels.

The advanced front-end design, incorporating MOS FET, RF amplifier, and a 4 ganged frequency linear variable capacitor (2 ganged for AM) provides extremely high sensitivity and low intermodulation distortion.

The adaptor needed for FM Dolby decoding is built into the SA-7100. It may be turned on by a simple flick of a switch.

Muitipath signal reception can be determined by speaker output noise. The antenna is then rotated for best reception. The high blend switch allows improvement of S/N ratio when receiving weak FM stereo broadcasts.
