Thiel CS-3.6 Coherent Source Speakers; Rosewood EC in Factory Boxes

These speakers truly live up to their reputation. They were extremely well reviewed including receiving Stereophile Speaker of the Year when they were introduced. Truly one of the great all around speakers of all time.

This matched set is coming from the original owner in perfect working condition. They were originally purchased in 1994. No functional issues whatsoever. All of the drivers are functioning as they should be. The only thing I can see wrong is a very slight "wrinkle" in one of the tweeter diaphragms and a couple of tiny indentations in the dustcap of one of the woofers. Purely cosmetic in both cases and not very noticeable.

In terms of the overall cosmetics, these look very attractive overall. One speaker has a little bit of signs of moisture damage in the veneer on top of the cabinet - consistent with a cold beverage being set there. This is not terribly visible, but you can feel that it is not completely smooth when you run your hand over the top of it. The rest of the cabinet on that speaker looks great. I don't see any notable blemishes except for some nicks around the bases at the bottom and a little rounding of the back corners. Both of the grill covers are in great shape. The other speaker is in better cosmetic condition. I don't see any notable blemishes except at the back corners again and toward the bottom of the speaker at the base (consistent with getting rubbed by vacuum cleaner). You'll also note that one of the little "feet" has broken free from the wooden base. There are 3 of these little metal buttons on each speaker. The one in the front is broken out on one speaker. It is included if you want to try to repair it. But easier solution would be to add some different sort of feet. See photos for details. They do look very attractive overall as you can see.
