This unit is brand new in the box. That's right... brand new / never used. I was skeptical as well when I acquired this. I examined it very carefully before removing any of the packaging... it was evident that the original tape from the factory was still holding the plastic bag closed and had never been opened. The unit is in perfect cosmetic condition... never touched. The counter was set at zero. I could not find any evidence whatsoever of prior use. It is truly brand new. I carefully removed the inner packaging just to inspect and test function. It does work.

The story behind this is a sad one. A U.S. serviceman purchased this while serving his country overseas. He had it shipped home in anticipation of his upcoming discharge. The equipment made it home, but he never did. His family has had it in storage ever since. While a bit sad... it's a beautiful piece of gear with a lot of history. An amazing find for a vintage collector or someone looking to take a walk down memory lane. Perfect gift for the vintage audio lover for the holiday... not often can you find something like this.
