Offered today by The Music Room: One pair Quad ESL-63 Electrostatic Speakers. These classic speakers are coming from the original owner in a non-smoking home and are in perfect working condition. They have been used sparingly at moderate volumes for listening to classical music (what they are best at).

The original manuals are included as well as some receipts from previous work done. One receipt shows that upgraded capacitors from the Mod Squad were installed in 1985. Another receipt shows that one of the speakers was repaired in 2000. The middle panel, top/bottom bass panel and High Voltage PCB were all replaced with new parts at a cost of $1099.50.

Cosmetic condition rating is 7/10 - One speaker has some water damage to the top wood trim panel. This should be easy to touch up as that panel is easily removable and could be sanded / stained. On that same speaker, the plastic cover on one of the binding posts is broken off. On other speaker, both plastic pieces on binding posts are broken and missing. This minor damage is not from abuse - rather from being placed inside the corresponding Gradient SW-63 subwoofer / stands (which we also have for sale). Note that there is also one small hole in the grill cloth on the side of one speaker. It doesn't show all the way through to the cabinet... seems to be multiple layers of cloth in this area, and only one layer is torn. None of these issues affect the function of the speakers. Please view all of our high-resolution photos for full details of the cosmetic condition as well as exactly what is included. If something is not clear, please inquire with us prior to purchase.
