Offered today by The Music Room: One melos tube preamplifier. This is a beautiful linestage preamp with an integrated headphone amp. This unit is coming from the collection of a prolific collector and avid audiophile where it was used sparingly in a non-smoking environment. It has been well cared for. It does work and sounds lovely... but the following issues are present:

1. Muting control does not work properly. The standby light is always red. When switched to mute, there is still a little bit of sound coming through one speaker. Right channel stays on (at a reduced level) when muting is switched on. Left channel goes off.

2. The unit has a low level hum through the speakers. In my system, I have to put my ear up to the speaker to hear this, but if you have a more sensitive system or more sensitive ear, you may notice this issue.

3. The red light in the center of the unit, which might be related to the headphone amp, never goes on.
