Marantz 4240 Vintage Stereo AM / FM Receiver; Recapped / Serviced

This unit just came back from Dr. Dan in Denver - the very best vintage audio guy in the business. He specializes in the restoration of Marantz receivers - using only the best audio-grade parts and relying on decades of experience. This unit was gone through the good doctor. He performed the following:

• Replaced all electrolytic capacitors on the preamp and power supply board except for the filter capacitors
• Replaced all dial lamps and stereo, tape 1 and dolby lights (all lights working now)
• Routine maintenance performed (cleaning, lubrication etc.)

This classic receiver is in excellent working condition from top to bottom and sounds amazing. It really is a night / day difference what fresh capacitors can do.

Cosmetic condition is excellent with a few small exceptions. The mode and volume knobs have some small scratches on them. I don't see any other notable blemishes on the face. The wood case does have some wear. There are some nicks and scrapes around the edges and a chip out of the wood on top where it meets the metal grate. There are some other light scratches and nicks around. It actually looks very good overall, but certainly not mint. The receiver itself however, is pretty close. See photos for details.
