Marantz 2500 Vintage Flagship Stereo Receiver; Near Mint in Factory Box
This rare, classic is in exceptional condition both functionally and cosmetically. It is coming from the original owner, and was just recently gone through by a local vintage audio technician after many years of being stored in the original factory packaging. All functions have been tested and verified to be in perfect working order... including the scope. All controls and switches have been thoroughly cleaned as well as other internal components. All backlights were replaced. It's been cleaned inside and out and looks fantastic. It is working perfectly and ready for many years of enjoyment.
Cosmetic condition is excellent. Upon close examination, I do not see any blemishes on the face. All of the knobs look excellent... like they've hardly ever been touched. In fact, the only wear of any kind I can see is on the back edge of the DLB-1 dolby decoder. There is a scuff mark on the back edge. It looks like it probably bumped up against a wall when the unit was being turned since it protrudes out further than one might expect. When this happened, it also broke one little area on plastic case that holds that decoder... right where one of the screws that holds it in. So it is a little bit loose, but this is really negligible. It could be glued in place, but there's no reason to - the decoder is still held securely and this damage is not visible unless you go hunting for it. Also of note - the preamp / main in jumpers are missing from this unit.
Includes original factory packaging, DLB-1 Dolby Decoder and a copy of the original brochure, service manual and schematics.
Overall, this is one of the nicest examples of a Marantz 2500 that you are likely to find. We can ship it anywhere in the world - please contact us for a quote if outside of the continental USA.
