These speakers are in excellent condition both functionally and cosmetically. I am a HUGE fan of these speakers. I have always loved the 104/2 and I currently have a pair of 107's in my system. I have to say that these outperform them both. The bass is deeper than the 104's and tighter and more articulate than the 107's (without the need for EQ). These are working perfectly. The foam surrounds were just professionally replaced... this is a HUGE project and a huge value... you do NOT want to try to undertake this on your own. There was 4 hours of labor and $100 in parts involved in this project. This was just done... you won't need to worry about it for another 25-30 years. These speakers are functioning like new.

Cosmetic condition is absolutely stunning. There is a small scratch on the right side of one cabinet. It is barely visible... only worth mentioning because it is the only flaw I can find. I don't see any other notable blemishes. From 4-5 feet away, they look brand new. The floorspikes and plastic covers on the bottom are intact for setting on hard floors or carpet. The grills are in perfect shape and are included. We neglected to photo them on the speakers (ooops!). Will add separate pics of grills later.

Shipping: For domestic US sale, we will load on pallet and ship via FedEx freight for a flat rate of $199. This is the safest way to ship big, heavy speakers like this as there is no chance of them being dropped or falling off conveyor belts. They are loaded on / off the truck by forklift or liftgate.

Model 105/3 was the first Reference Series loudspeaker to incorporate Uni-Q technology. It was a four-way system, employing six drive units, with very high sensitivity, high output capability and outstanding power handling capacity.

Several design features of the 105/3 were directly derived from the acclaimed Model 104/2. Bass reproduction was handled by development of the 104/2’s coupled cavity system, and the separate midrange enclosure module was also retained and developed – this time to incorporate two dedicated lower midrange drive units and the new Uni-Q upper midrange/tweeter driver array.
Consistent with other the Reference Series loudspeakers, Model 105/3 included conjugate load matching to improve the amplifier-speaker interface and performance was enhanced with the use of the KUBE 200 active equaliser. In the case of Model 105/3 and the Reference Series systems that followed, the use of the matching KUBE was not essential, the loudspeakers were optimised to function in standard passive configuration.

The addition of Uni-Q coincident source technology allowed a major improvement in directivity control, in particular, the removal of the constrained vertical directivity of convention loudspeakers caused by the vertically separated midrange and high frequency drive units.
