Cosmetic Description: 8/10 Excellent condition with minimal visible cosmetic wear including light wear along the top edge of the front faceplate, light wear on the bottom edge of the front faceplate, a few small rub marks and nicks on the right heat sinks, and one or two very small nicks on the left heat sink. These blemishes are not readily visible and do not detract from the overall wonderful appearance.

"In summary, there are several features of the VK-500 that make it different than most other amplifiers. These are (1) an enormous power supply; (2) the fully balanced design; (3) the use of N type MOSFETs rather than P and N; and (4) having only two gain stages. Scientifically speaking, I could not say which of these features is more important than the others in making the amplifier sound so good. I would estimate, however, that number (1) is most important, followed by (4), then (2), and (3). But that is only a guess. In any case, the VK-500 has all four features, so the question is moot.
