Product Description:
Important Note: The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF is intentionally designed without internal WiFi to maintain optimal performance by isolating the network signal from wireless interference. Systems requiring wireless connectivity—such as phones or tablets—must use a separate access point connected to the Network Router UEF.
It is important to understand that a WiFi router is not the same as an access point; standard routers will not function in this setup. Extensive testing shows that most access points have minimal effect on performance. For ease of use, SR recommends the TP-Link EAP245 or the NETGEAR WiFi 6 Access Point (WAX214). When configuring your access point, assign it a unique SSID distinct from your existing home network.
Solid Billet Aluminum Chassis with Active EM Conditioning
The Synergistic Research Network UEF is designed to bridge the gap between digital playback and the immersive realism of reference-level analog LPs and tapes. This advanced component integrates the company’s full suite of EM Cell and UEF technologies with Galileo-level chassis construction into a single, high-performance unit.
Inside, EM Cell and UEF circuits actively condition the digital signal for maximum purity, while a dedicated EM Cell functions as a built-in Tranquility Base to reduce noise and enhance resolution. The chassis, precision-milled from a solid billet of aluminum and reinforced with carbon fiber, minimizes vibration and preserves signal integrity, ensuring that every detail of the music is delivered with clarity, depth, and lifelike realism.
SR Ground Block—This Goes to 11.
Just as household appliance power supplies aren’t suited to drive a DAC or preamp, a standard home router isn’t ideal for high-performance audio. The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF is purpose-built solely to optimize digital audio, free from the demands of gaming, streaming, and general internet traffic.

For maximum sonic benefit, pairing the Network Router UEF with an SR Ethernet Switch UEF (sold separately) separates digital switching from routing, producing audible improvements in clarity, depth, and musicality. Connecting the system to an Active Ground Block ground filter (sold separately) further lowers the noise floor, revealing a level of resolution and dynamic range that transforms the listening experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Who needs a Network Router UEF?
Any Audiophile streaming music or using digital sources that require an ethernet connection.
Q. What does a Network Router UEF do?
The Network Router UEF creates an isolated network specifically designed for your audio system, separate from your smart devices, TVs, appliances, etc.
Q. How does a Network Router UEF work?
The Network Router UEF utilizes a combination of advanced SR technologies and components to enhance its performance. It begins with a high-performance router circuit, which is integrated into a chassis made of billet aluminum and carbon fiber. The chassis is further enhanced with carbon fiber footers for vibration control. Internally, the router is equipped with an SR Linear Power Supply (similar to an SR LPS UEF), an Electromagnetic conditioning cell (similar to a Tranquility Pod), a ULF generator (similar to an FEQ Carbon), and a passive ground conditioner (similar to an SR Ground Block). Finally, the unit undergoes high voltage conditioning treatments and is fine-tuned using SR Carbon Tuning Discs placed strategically in specific locations inside.
Q. Does the Network Router UEF have built-in WiFi?
The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF does not include internal WiFi functionality. This deliberate omission ensures optimal performance by keeping the WiFi signal isolated from the Network Router. If your system requires a wireless connection (phone, tablet, etc.), it is necessary to connect a separate access point to the SR Network Router UEF. Two easy to set up recommendations are the TP-Link EAP610 and NETGEAR WiFi 6 Access Point (WAX214)
Q. Do I still need an SR Ethernet Switch UEF when using a Network Router UEF?
For achieving the highest performance, we highly recommend utilizing both the Network Router UEF and an SR Ethernet Switch UEF together. Although the Network Router can be used to connect your components directly, the SR Network Router UEF and Ethernet Switch UEF are designed to do two different functions. The Network Router UEF creates an isolated network specifically designed for your audio system, separate from your smart devices, TVs, appliances, etc. While the SR Ethernet Switch UEF is designed to regenerate and duplicate the signal generated by the Network Router UEF. By combining the functionalities of both devices, you can attain the ultimate digital playback experience.
Q. Is the Network Router UEF difficult to install?
The Network Router UEF has been designed and configured to provide a plug-and-play experience, making the installation process as straightforward as possible. Here are the steps to follow:
- Connect your existing network (modem, router, or switch) to the “IN” port on the Network Router UEF.
- Next, connect either your switch (recommended) or your components directly to the Network Router UEF.
- If WiFi is required, set up and connect a WiFi access point to the Network Router UEF, and then connect your WiFi device to the access point.
