Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 600.2 Integrated Amplifier Product Description
A powerhouse integrated amplifier blending analog purity, tube magic, and modern control.
The Nu-Vista 600.2 is a commanding integrated amplifier that incorporates many design elements from Musical Fidelity’s prestigious PRE/PAS/PAM reference range. It is a no-compromise, fully analog amplifier designed for music lovers who demand power, transparency, and emotional connection—without digital shortcuts.
Nu-Vista 600.2 Overview
Following the huge success of the multi-award-winning Nu-Vista 800.2, Musical Fidelity introduces the Nu-Vista 600.2. A far more substantial rework than a typical ".2" update.
Chief of Design Simon Quarry has meticulously refined the amplifier for sweetness, transparency, and control, while preserving the authority and dynamic capability that defines the Nu-Vista line.
Compared to the original Nu-Vista 600, the 600.2 now incorporates:
- The full TITAN power amplifier architecture
- A dramatically revised PCB layout
- Updated electrical components throughout
- The same laser-trimmed volume control used in the 800.2
- A significantly improved power supply section
The result is an amplifier that feels unmistakably Nu-Vista—yet performs on a new level.

A Purely Analog Statement
The Nu-Vista 600.2 is a love letter to strictly analog, discrete, dual-mono amplification.
There is no digital processing, no streaming, and no Wi-Fi on board—by design. Musical Fidelity believes true fidelity is achieved only through a fully analog signal path, free from compromise.
At the heart of the amplifier is a Class-A nuvistor tube stage, using highly prized and increasingly rare nuvistor tubes. This stage delivers the warmth, dimensionality, and musical flow of tubes, paired with the control and scale of a high-power solid-state output stage.
Massive transformers, multi-array power supplies, and extensive filtering ensure total control over both the preamp and power amp sections.
Technical Talk
The Nu-Vista 600.2 is a more extensive redesign than the earlier 800 to 800.2 update.
Smaller but meaningful changes include:
- Replacement of the input switching IC with high-quality relays for improved separation and dynamics
- Exclusive use of polypropylene capacitors in the signal path
- A laser-trimmed volume control delivering ±0.5 dB channel accuracy, even at low listening levels
More significant changes include a completely revised internal layout. Preamplifier circuits have been moved from the rear PCB to a self-screening tray at the top of the unit, isolating them from high-current power stages and reducing noise and distortion.

Nuvistor Stage and Dual-Mono Architecture
The nuvistor stage, shared with the PRE/PAS/PAM reference products, uses 6S51N nuvistor tubes operating in a discrete Class-A buffer.
The preamp, nuvistor stage, and input circuits are now:
- Fully dual mono
- Powered by separate left and right power supplies
- Physically isolated on the top PCB layer for reduced interference
To further improve noise performance, the Nu-Vista 600.2 operates with no switch-mode power supply during playback. A switch-mode supply is used only in standby mode, ensuring the cleanest possible power rails when listening.
TITAN Heritage Power Amplifier Design
One of the most significant upgrades is the full integration of Musical Fidelity’s acclaimed TITAN power amplifier architecture.
Each output transistor is paired with its own high-current bulk supply capacitor, providing immediate access to stored energy and a low-impedance current path. This improves transient response while reducing ripple and noise under high load.
Main supply capacitors are mounted directly at the rectifiers, minimizing supply impedance and keeping rectification noise away from high-gain amplifier stages.
The 600.2 uses a refined “V4” output stage layout, with four output transistors per channel, and offers exceptional control while maintaining a more elegant, compact architecture compared to the V10-style output stage of the 800.2.

Heroic Build Quality
The Nu-Vista 600.2 is built to an uncompromising mechanical standard:
- Front and side panels are milled from solid extruded aluminum
- The chassis is exceptionally rigid and vibration-resistant
- The aluminum enclosure acts as a Faraday cage, shielding internal circuits from external electromagnetic interference—and protecting nearby components from emissions
This is an amplifier designed to feel as substantial as it sounds.

The NU-VISTA Philosophy
Founded by professional musician Antony Michaelson, Musical Fidelity has always pursued the sound of Class-A and tube amplifiers. They are warm, musical, and emotionally engaging, while preserving real-world dynamics and scale.
The NU-VISTA range represents the pinnacle of that philosophy:
a fusion of power and finesse, executed without compromise.
The Nu-Vista 600.2 measures and sounds extraordinary. It remains calm and composed under pressure, yet delivers explosive dynamics and lifelike imaging, whether reproducing a full orchestra, a live rock performance, or intimate jazz.

Nuvistor Tubes
Nuvistor tubes were developed in the 1950s to overcome the limitations of traditional vacuum tubes. They offer exceptional reliability, low noise, low microphony, consistent performance, compact size, and excellent technical characteristics.
Historically, nuvistors were used in legendary studio equipment such as:
- Ampex MR-70 tape machines
- AKG/Norelco C12a microphones
- The iconic Neumann U47 microphone
When transistors emerged, nuvistors disappeared. Until Musical Fidelity revived them in the original Nu-Vista series. Those limited-edition amplifiers sold out quickly and continue to command high prices on the used market today.

A Modern Nu-Vista Legacy
Today, the Nu-Vista 600.2 carries that legacy forward. It is a modern integrated amplifier that respects analog tradition while delivering contemporary performance, control, and luxury.
Everyone at Musical Fidelity hopes you enjoy listening to the Nu-Vista 600.2 as much as they enjoyed creating it.
