Product Description:
The Nu-Vista 600.2 represents a far more substantial evolution than a simple reissue, delivering significant advances over earlier designs through extensive circuit, layout, and power-supply refinement. Component-level upgrades include the replacement of the previous input switching IC with high-quality relays for improved channel separation and dynamics, alongside the exclusive use of premium polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path.
A major enhancement is the inclusion of a laser-trimmed volume control, delivering exceptionally precise channel balance with ±0.5 dB gain accuracy, even at very low listening levels. The internal architecture has been comprehensively redesigned: power amplifier, preamplifier, and Nuvistor stages have been re-laid out for improved noise performance and lower distortion. The preamp circuitry has been relocated from the rear panel PCB to a self-screening tray at the top of the chassis, isolating it from high-current power supplies and reducing interference.
The Nu-Vista stage—now identical to that used in the PRE/PAS/PAM models—employs 6S51N Nuvistor valves in a discrete Class A buffer stage, also positioned on the new top-layer PCB. Preamp, Nuvistor, and input stages are fully dual-mono, each with independent left and right power supplies for maximum channel integrity.
In pursuit of the cleanest possible power delivery, the Nu-Vista 600.2 operates with no switch-mode power supplies during playback. A switch-mode supply is used only for standby operation, ensuring exceptionally low supply noise during use. Enhanced digital power supplies further improve noise performance across the supply rails. The new internal layout not only delivers substantial performance gains but also allows support for two balanced XLR inputs, ideal for pairing with sources such as the Nu-Vista Vinyl and DAC. A balanced XLR preamplifier output has been added, and all line outputs are now individually buffered to prevent interaction between connected devices.
One of the most significant advancements is the full integration of the renowned TITAN power-supply architecture. Each output transistor is paired with its own high-current bulk reservoir capacitor, providing immediate access to stored energy via an ultra-low-impedance path. This results in superior transient response and enhanced ripple filtering under high current demand. Main supply capacitors are positioned directly at the rectifiers, reducing impedance further while keeping rectification and hum noise away from sensitive high-gain circuitry.
Optimized for lower overall power requirements—approximately half that of the larger 800.2—the Nu-Vista 600.2 features a refined “V4” output stage with four output transistors per channel. By contrast, the 800.2 employs a more muscular “V10” configuration with ten output devices per channel.
Mechanical construction is exceptionally rigid and substantial. The front and side panels are machined from solid extruded aluminum, providing outstanding resistance to vibration. The heavy aluminum enclosure also functions as an effective Faraday cage, shielding internal circuitry from external electromagnetic interference while preventing radiated noise from affecting other system components.
The Nu-Vista 600.2 exemplifies the pinnacle of modern amplification, combining power, finesse, and meticulous engineering in a no-compromise design. While raw output power alone does not define performance, careful circuit topology and layout ensure technical measurements and musical results of the highest order. Sonically, the presentation is calm, smooth, and effortlessly controlled, with a wide dynamic range, natural transient response, and exceptional image stability. From large-scale orchestral works to intimate jazz performances, the Nu-Vista 600.2 delivers a lifelike, engaging, and deeply musical listening experience.
