BCT Diaphragms 

The heart of the new Reference 1 lies in the innovative BCT (Black Ceramic Tungsten) diaphragm for midrange and bass, ensuring dynamic and precise performance. Newly designed tweeters implement BC cones made of black alumina ceramic for superior treble clarity. Acoustically optimized cabinets with a seamless design establish new standards in dispersion, stability, and resonance reduction.

Specialized Design

Handcrafted Reference 1 speakers focus on precise construction. Divided into three chambers tailored for its 3-way setup, each of the five drivers are allowed to reach their sonic potential. Three 219mm woofers with ceramic tungsten cones ensure dynamic bass, complemented by a 174mm midrange driver for seamless sound. Recessed drivers and ASW cover rings optimize dispersion.

For optimal dynamics, the Reference 1 employs curved multi-layer laminate side panels, along with a solid 60mm baffle. Precision internal reinforcements and damping ensure ideal conditions for the newly developed drivers. Utilizing polyoxymethylene (POM), the cover rings and high-end terminals offer strength, density, and an elegant finish.

Optimal Bass Response

Canton’s signature bass reflex system has been redesigned, featuring an integrated port using combined frontfire and backfire. Controlled air via the base plate ensures a stable bass response, maintaining consistency regardless of room placement.
