Its performance bridges the gap between Norse and Valhalla Reference

Tyr 2 is fitting as the leader of Nordost’s broadly accessible Norse Series, as its only competition comes from the Reference ranges above it.

Incorporating plenty of features from the Valhalla and Odin reference series lines, Tyr 2 stands as the middle step between the Norse and above. 13 silver-plated, 7N OFC (99.99999% oxygen-free copper) conductors on each side make for the biggest gauge of the Norse speaker cables, and deliver instant current to any and all speaker loads at roughly 96% the speed of light. 

Nordost’s Tyr 2 cables can boast that astonishing figure because every point in the design process was in service of ultimate speed and transparency. The proprietary Micro MonoFilament technology makes the cable’s jacket mostly air, with a small FEP thread spiraling each OFC conductor and suspending it in place within a tube. 26 of these are grouped to form the Tyr 2 speaker cable, delivering natural dynamics and real-world weight and scale.

Tyr 2 cables also benefit from the “mechanical tuning” that was introduced in the Valhalla Reference Series. A specific type of tension is built into each cable based on its length, allowing for consistency of sound and preventing cable-borne vibrations from changing the electrical characteristics of the cable. 

The use of consistent technology and materials across a cable system can enhance effects and support synergy. Norse 2 allows you to easily build a coherent cable solution, no matter the system, as Tyr 2 mates perfectly with the Frey 2 and Heimdall 2 cables, yet offers a distinctive perspective.
