Clarus Aqua MkII Subwoofer Cable Product Description:

Aqua - Exquisite Sound Reproduction for Discriminating Audiophiles

Clarus Aqua cables deliver many of the standout performance features found in the Crimson series, albeit with slightly smaller wire gauges. This reduction in size is not due to any form of scaling down but rather the result of meticulous design and evaluation by Clarus engineers. They have fine-tuned each Aqua cable to achieve peak performance from its unique topology. Similar to the Crimson cables, the Aqua series employs a multi-gauge configuration with three specially shaped and individually insulated conductors, offering exceptional bass, midrange, and high frequencies. This design ensures remarkable imaging and definition across the entire sound spectrum. The use of ultra-low-distortion PCCC conductors contributes to enhanced clarity, while the precision-formulated polyethylene (PE) insulation minimizes loss and ensures superior imaging and sound definition. The Clarus Aqua cables stand out in the audiophile market for their patented design breakthroughs and sound reproduction, much like their Crimson counterparts.

Rich, Well-Defined, Multi-Dimensional Bass

Nearly all AV receivers and preamplifiers come equipped with an LFE (low-frequency effects) output, which sends a mono signal composed solely of low frequencies to a subwoofer. Clarus subwoofer cables are specifically optimized for these low-frequency signals by rolling off high frequencies to minimize unwanted noise.

Clarus employs a multi-gauge twisted-pair design for their subwoofer cables. The multi-gauge conductors deliver detailed and dimensional bass, while the twisted-pair geometry significantly reduces noise at low frequencies, contributing to a more natural sound. Clarus subwoofer cables are renowned for capturing every nuance of rich, well-defined, and multi-dimensional bass.

The Purest Copper Available for the Purest Sound Possible

Clarus designs cables for discerning audiophiles using the highest quality copper available. Pure Continuous Cast Copper (PCCC) is produced through a specialized proprietary mold extrusion process, resulting in long lengths of single-crystal copper. This copper is directional, free from impurities, flexible, and corrosion-resistant, with low electrical resistance and structurally perfect non-crystal boundaries.

Distinctly Different Subwoofer Cable Design

Clarus subwoofer cables are meticulously designed with conductor sizes and combinations specifically optimized for low frequencies. Recognizing that low frequencies benefit from heavy gauge conductors, Clarus utilizes multi-large-gauge solid-core conductors in their subwoofer cables. The multi-gauge design incorporates three solid conductor sizes, each dedicated to supporting low-, mid-, and high-frequency bass signals.

Each conductor is individually insulated, ensuring clear and precise bass sound. Surrounding each conductor is a double-sided aluminum foil and Mylar® wrap, along with a copper-braided shield, which effectively blocks noise from external EMI and RFI sources. This design ensures that your high-performance subwoofer receives a clean, noise-free, high-resolution, and tight bass signal.

Mark II — The Final Connection

Clarus terminates MKII subwoofer cables with RCA connectors crafted from two high-performance copper alloys: high-purity, high-conductivity tellurium copper, which offers low resistance and exceptional sound quality, and lightweight, springy beryllium copper, which ensures secure contact and minimal signal loss.

The tellurium copper center pin features a hollow design that reduces eddy currents, which can sometimes slow signal transfer. The beryllium copper used in the ground section of the RCA connector possesses a strong memory characteristic, allowing it to return to its original shape after displacement. This ensures that the RCA plug’s ground plates maintain a firm grip on the receptacle, providing a reliable and solid ground connection.
