The SRD-7SB is a self-biasing (SB) version of the SRD-7 "earspeakers" transformer, and requires no AC power to energize Stax electrostatic headphones. A separate speaker-specific amplifier (not headphone amplifier) is required to use this adapter, which features a pass-through for loudspeakers and a switch for choosing the output of the SRD-7SB.
