Product Description:
All Series 8 cables are meticulously hand-assembled in Orlando, Florida, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship. The Series 8 Mark II balanced audio cables begin with ultra-high-grade linear crystal copper (LC-OFC), specifically developed for audio applications. Tributaries' LC-OFC is carefully drawn to produce a low crystal volume per foot, resulting in reduced signal loss and distortion. The conductors consist of multiple solid gauges, mathematically and tonally selected to support low, mid, and high frequencies for a natural, balanced sound. Each conductor is individually insulated, eliminating strand interaction and enhancing sound quality.
The Series 8 balanced cables feature a precision-twisted, triple-balanced design. Three dedicated conductors with equal impedance for positive, negative, and ground signals are surrounded by a separate shield to prevent noise from reaching the signal path. The Mark II cables are silver-soldered onto proprietary XLR connectors with Tellurium (TE) copper contacts, enhancing conductivity and durability. To minimize signal hum during connection, the Tributaries Series 8 XLR connectors have the female ground (pin 1) positioned forward in the shell, ensuring the ground connects first. The result is a dead-quiet, neutral-sounding cable that accurately reproduces the live music experience.
The Series 8 Mark II balanced audio cable is available in pairs and mono cables, with lengths ranging from ½ meter to 4 meters, and custom lengths are available upon request.
