A concept born from the vision of Lead Designer Ted Denney III—introducing MetaGround. Over the years, Synergistic Research explored ground conditioning by first connecting component circuits to various Ground Blocks and Active Ground Blocks. They then found that lifting cable shields from the component ground and routing them to an SR Ground Block further lowered the noise floor. Experiments extended to grounding component racks and even the metal frame of the listening room, resulting in a noticeably larger and more immersive sound field, improved low-frequency control, and smoother, extended high frequencies—an achievement previously thought nearly impossible. This inspired Ted to ask, “What if a listener themselves were grounded to the Galileo Ground Block SX?” The following day, a prototype ground strap connected a listener along with the reference system—including Tranquility Bases, cables, racks, and room frame—to the Galileo Ground Block SX. The result: the system’s performance improved. Grounding oneself to the system enhances natural sound, delivers more realistic soundstaging with precise instrument and vocal placement, improves high-frequency decay, and tightens bass response.
