Foundation SX interconnects are engineered to showcase core Synergistic Research technologies in their purest form. Designed to make a complete loom of high-performance cables accessible to audiophiles, the loom effect acts as a performance multiplier within the Foundation SX line, delivering expansive soundstaging, low noise floor, dynamic range, and musicality beyond the cables’ individual price points.

Drawing on technology from Synergistic Research’s highest-performance cables, Foundation SX interconnects can be mixed and matched with Atmosphere SX, Galileo Discovery, and SRX series cables while retaining the loom effect when a full commitment to higher-end lines isn’t practical. Each interconnect begins with hand-built Air String geometries of pure silver mono-filament conductors suspended in air dielectrics, maximizing detail, dynamics, and transparency.

A UEF Compound, originally developed for the flagship SRX cable loom, is applied to lower the noise floor and enhance musicality. Each cable then undergoes the Long Duration High Voltage Conditioning process, imparting realistic soundstage scale, resolution, and musicality. Finally, newly developed UEF Carbon Tuning Discs allow users to voice the interconnects to their system or run them straight—offering full flexibility in optimizing performance.

UEF Matrix Shield with Graphene Matrix Shielding

The original Atmosphere X Series began as an experiment in advancing UEF Shielding by positioning UEF elements at strategic grid points along the shields—an approach that became known as Matrix Shielding. This design lowered the noise floor by arranging UEF elements in a grid pattern across the shield.

With Atmosphere SX, Matrix Shielding has been refined even further through the introduction of Carbon Fiber UEF Tuning Discs, created specifically for this series. These discs enhance the loom’s ability to cancel noise that would otherwise lead to harsh or fatiguing high frequencies. As a result, Atmosphere SX delivers greater holographic scale, improved resolution, and heightened musicality—pushing the boundaries of what UEF Shielding can achieve.

Quantum Tunneling—SRX Long Duration High Voltage Conditioning

First developed for the flagship SRX series, the new high-voltage conditioning process uses an extended sweeping frequency plot applied over long durations. During development, dozens of frequency combinations were tested before arriving at the ideal formula, and a new Tesla Coil was engineered to manage the heat generated during these extended sessions. The result is a conditioning process that delivers holographic realism and timbral accuracy well beyond what was possible with the earlier Tesla Coil protocol.

Included Carbon Tuning Discs—Tune to Perfection

Included with Foundation SX and SR30 interconnects, speaker cables, and power cables, Carbon Tuning Discs (\$199.95 MSRP) originate from the Atmosphere SX Loom, where they are strategically placed inside cables to help shape the SX sonic signature. Built on Synergistic Research’s patented UEF technology, each disc is infused with a specialized UEF compound that interacts with surrounding EM fields to elevate performance. The conductive carbon fiber structure amplifies this interaction, further enhancing the effect. Gold Carbon Tuning Discs enrich harmonic density while adding clarity for a more holographic and lifelike soundstage. Purple Carbon Tuning Discs, treated with a different UEF compound, extend clarity and soundstage openness even further than Gold.
