Over a decade ago, Synergistic Research introduced the original Black Box, a groundbreaking broad-spectrum low-frequency resonator array that redefined how rooms handle bass. Updated Chassis and Resonator Design

The Black Box Carbon represents our most advanced approach to resonance control. Drawing on developments from products like the Voodoo Music Server/Streamer and PowerCell 14 Line Conditioner, we engineered a hybrid carbon fiber and aluminum chassis that is both rigid and highly effective at dissipating vibration. This improved structural integrity preserves the purity of sound waves as they interact with the internal resonator arrays.

At the same time, the resonators themselves have been refined with updated tuning and UEF material construction. These changes eliminate residual ringing and work more effectively with room resonances and harmonic frequencies, producing a richer, clearer, and more lifelike musical presentation.

Optimized for Stacking

During listening tests, we discovered that stacking Black Boxes produces a more profound sonic impact. To perfect this approach, we designed bronze contact inserts, chosen after evaluating numerous metals for their tonal qualities. Bronze delivered the ideal balance of resolution, fluidity, and natural timbre.

Not only can multiple Black Box Carbons be stacked for greater effect, but they can also be paired with the original Black Box. For example, placing a Carbon on the bottom with a first-generation unit on top delivers performance nearly equal to a full Carbon stack. This flexibility makes the Black Box Carbon an easy upgrade for both new and existing owners.
