The Atmosphere SX USB cable is engineered with a singular focus: to deliver music with exceptional low-level detail and an emotional connection, free from the common pitfalls of digital playback. It incorporates proprietary UEF Graphene shielding, enhanced with UEF Technology first introduced in the SRX cable loom. A direct-to-ground shield further reduces noise, achieving a lower noise floor than conventional shields that pass interference to component ground. Each cable also undergoes the SRX Long Duration High Voltage conditioning process to maximize resolution while preserving musicality. Additional advancements include a new conductor alloy and an optimized shielding matrix, selected through double-blind testing for superior low-level detail, tonal accuracy, and a remarkable high-frequency extension that remains natural and never fatiguing.

The Atmosphere X Series originally explored ways to improve UEF Shielding by positioning UEF Tech at key grid points along cable shields—a method now known as Matrix Shielding. This design lowers the noise floor and enhances clarity. Atmosphere SX refines the concept further by incorporating newly developed Carbon Fiber UEF Tuning Discs, which improve the loom’s ability to cancel noise that could otherwise make high frequencies sound fatiguing. The result is greater resolution, a more holographic soundstage, and improved musicality.

After perfecting highly natural and holographic cables, Synergistic Research introduced a new high-voltage conditioning process for Atmosphere SX. This process applies a sweeping frequency plot for an extended duration. They experimented with dozens of frequencies in different combinations over a prolonged time period before landing on just the right mix. They even built a new Tesla Coil to handle the excess heat generated during long conditioning sessions.
