Product Highlights

Low Output MI Phono Cartridge

Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC Star Cartridge – Specifications: Fixed Coil (Low-Output Moving Iron) design, 0.4 mV output, laser-drilled sapphire cantilever, nude Contact Line stylus, 1.8–2.2 g tracking force, 15–45,000 Hz frequency response, 10.25 g weight, 58–64 dB preamp gain, ≥470 Ω loading. Handcrafted in the USA, the Zephyr MIMC Star brings elite performance to an accessible class. By pairing an ultra-low-mass moving iron element with a rigid sapphire cantilever, it dramatically reduces tip mass to retrieve delicate micro-details with speed and accuracy. Its body features Dynamic Energy Management System (DEMS) technology to dissipate internal reflections, keeping the stylus anchored in the groove while reducing surface noise.

Reviewers and audiophiles praise the Zephyr MIMC Star for its liquid, non-fatiguing sound and expansive three-dimensional soundstage. Reviews highlight its exceptional channel separation, black backgrounds, and tight bass response during complex dynamic passages. Users also note its uncanny ability to suppress pops and surface noise on older records while preserving rich warmth, liquidity, and airy high-frequency extension.

Integrating this cartridge into an analog setup transforms routine listening into an engrossing performance. Its rare combination of low tip mass, sapphire rigidity, and moving-coil preamp compatibility unlocks subtle nuances hidden deep within your record grooves. Adding the Zephyr MIMC Star to your turntable is the ultimate upgrade for achieving reference-grade analog realism and long-term musical satisfaction.
