Product Highlights

I2s Module installed in place of USB module

Sonnet Audio Morpheus MkII DAC; I2s Module works alongside external digital transports and streamers to decode services such as Qobuz, Tidal, and Spotify, supporting maximum audio resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz via optical, 24-bit/192 kHz over coaxial and AES/EBU, and 24-bit/384 kHz PCM through its dedicated I2S connection. Built around four proprietary SDA-2 modules in differential mode, this balanced non-oversampling R2R ladder DAC eliminates digital filters to maintain absolute phase accuracy. An integrated lossless volume control and variable attenuation allow it to double as an ultra-clean preamplifier that feeds power amplifiers directly.

Critical consensus and user reviews universally praise the Morpheus MkII for its rich, analog-like warmth and wide, three-dimensional soundstage without any fatiguing digital glare. Listeners consistently laud its tight, tuneful bass response and intimate midrange clarity that renders vocals with lifelike realism. Built on Cees Ruijtenberg's celebrated engineering pedigree, the unit carries a sterling reputation for reliability and quiet operation, with the I2S module specifically praised for yielding an exceptionally black background and fluid micro-dynamics.

Investing in this converter elevates any high-end audio chain by unlocking the purest expression of digital playback. The dedicated I2S link establishes an ultra-clean signal highway directly into the ladder network, conveying subtle emotional nuances with effortless presence. Combining pure R2R conversion with direct amplifier drive, it is an irresistible centerpiece for listeners demanding timeless musicality and uncompromising transparency.
