REL Acoustics S/5 SHO Subwoofer

REL Acoustics S/5 SHO Subwoofer features a 12-inch Continuous CastAlloy active driver, a 12-inch carbon passive radiator, and a built-in 550-watt RMS NextGen2 Class D amplifier. As the Super High Output flagship of the Serie S line, this active subwoofer delivers fast, low-distortion bass engineered to integrate effortlessly into high-performance sound systems. Its lightweight active driver cone and high-speed circuitry allow the enclosure to maintain the agility of a 12-inch sealed design on delicate passages, while expanding its dynamic output to match 15-inch drivers on heavy bass transients.

Audio reviewers praise the S/5 SHO for its incredible transient speed, low-frequency extension down to 21 Hz, and ability to seamlessly blend into listening rooms. Critics highlight its flawless driver integration, noting that it reinforces the natural scale and character of main loudspeakers rather than overwhelming them with boomy bass. Experts also celebrate its capacity to render fine hall ambience and venue space as easily as visceral cinema impact, performing brilliantly across both two-channel music and home theater setups.

Equipped with high-level Neutrik Speakon connections alongside line and LFE inputs, the unit connects directly to your amplifier's speaker terminals for exact tonal matching. Optional zero-compression wireless capability offers flexible room placement without signal loss. Integrating this level of speed and low-end control unveils hidden acoustic detail and structural depth across your entire media library, transforming your system into a complete, immersive listening experience.
