The newly developed Nd5 moving magnet cartridge, the result of over a decade of innovation, is designed to elevate the performance of moving magnet technology to unprecedented levels. The Nd range, currently patent pending, is the first of its kind to utilize an ultra-high powered Neodymium magnet, enabling a truly distinctive and unique design.

Advanced Moving Magnet

Each Nd5 cartridge is crafted with precision by skilled technicians, ensuring exceptional quality in every piece. The stylus features a perfectly elliptical nude diamond, created through an elliptical grinding process using polycrystalline manmade diamond. The innovative design incorporates brand new generator geometry with perfect symmetry, resulting in precise channel balance. The Nd5 also boasts an optimized pole gap that enhances linearity and reduces cross talk, delivering a significantly wider soundstage compared to previous models.

This cartridge is engineered with miniaturized parallel coils, meticulously wound in-house with 38-micron wire and 1,275 turns. The outcome is a low inductance, low impedance generator that greatly improves high-frequency response. Reflecting a commitment to sustainability, the entire Nd range is packaged in 100% recyclable materials.

Nd Magnet technology

Commonly found in Moving Coil designs, including those from Rega, the Nd5 is believed to be the first moving magnet cartridge to incorporate a Neodymium (Nd) N55 magnet. This magnet, the most powerful commercially available, is a key element in the Nd5’s unique design, providing significantly more power than traditional bar magnet designs.

Glass filled PPS body

The entire assembly of the Nd5 cartridge is encased in a zero-tolerance injection-molded body made from glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), a material known for its lightweight and high rigidity. This low-mass body reduces strain on tonearm bearings and promotes smooth movement, both of which are essential for precise vinyl playback. The design of this new body draws inspiration from the brand's highly successful MC range.

Cantilever & stylus profile

The Nd5 features an aluminum cantilever equipped with a precision-crafted elliptical nude diamond stylus. This stylus profile ensures outstanding tracking accuracy and enables the extraction of enhanced levels of detail from the vinyl surface.

Factory Fitted options

The Nd5 cartridge will be available as a factory-fitted option on the multi-award-winning Planar 3 and Planar 6 turntable models. Rega rebuild scheme

Rega cartridges feature a unique pivot pad design that enhances performance by eliminating the mechanical joint between the stylus housing and the main body.
