The Brio MK7 is a handcrafted, high-performance stereo integrated amplifier. This latest iteration of Rega's bestselling model is the most advanced and fully equipped Brio to date. The engineering team has completely redesigned the circuit layout, refining its performance and lowering distortion. Housed in a compact, custom half-width aluminum chassis, the Brio MK7 delivers 50 W per channel into 8Ω and 72 W per channel into 4Ω, offering plenty of power for even demanding loudspeakers. It now features a Rega-designed onboard DAC with two digital inputs, expanding compatibility with a wide range of sources. A newly developed mini system remote—designed to work with future components—is included, enabling remote-operated standby for convenient power control.

Re-engineered Circuit Design
Significant upgrades have been made throughout the circuit. The PCB layout has been completely redesigned to support higher-spec components in all key areas. A secondary raw power supply now provides added isolation between the output stage and the driver, line, and phono stages, further separating high- and low-level signal paths. Premium MUSES operational amplifiers are employed in the line, DAC, and phono circuits for enhanced performance.

Headphone Output
The Brio MK7 includes a dedicated circuit for driving standard hi-fi headphones directly from the internal amplifier. This design minimizes any influence on the main signal path, ensuring the overall sound quality remains uncompromised. Extra care has been taken with the switching mechanism that mutes the loudspeakers when a headphone plug is inserted.

Auto Standby
The unit features automatic standby mode. After roughly one hour without an active signal on the selected input, the amplifier will switch into standby. This feature can be disabled if preferred.

Thermal Protection
Should the amplifier reach temperatures that could risk internal damage, a thermal safeguard will activate. The speaker output will mute first—indicated by the front-panel MUTE LED and the input selector LED turning off. If the temperature continues to rise, the amplifier will fully power down.

Short-Circuit Protection
In the event of a short across the speaker outputs, a fold-back protection system limits current to safeguard the output stage. Because this circuitry sits outside the audio path, it has no impact on sound quality.
