Product Highlights

The Plinius Reference A-150 solid-state power amplifier delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 250 watts into 4 ohms, and 50 amperes of peak current. Designed to anchor high-performance audio systems, it exerts authoritative grip over demanding loudspeakers across wide dynamic swings. A rare operational highlight is its user-selectable bias switch between pure Class A for maximum harmonic sweetness and Class AB for cooler everyday efficiency. The internal architecture centers on an oversized 1100VA transformer and custom Audience Auricap XO capacitors, fed by balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs. A rear selector also enables bridged mono operation, providing 450 watts into 8 ohms for systems requiring serious brute force.

Critical consensus highlights the amplifier for its effortless dynamic headroom, holographic soundstaging, and lush tonal richness. Writing for SoundStage Ultra, Jeff Fritz celebrated its enduring musicality, noting that its transparent, fatigue-free presentation easily outlasts passing audiophile trends. Stereophile praised its exceptional grip on difficult loads, emphasizing the remarkable tactile warmth and three-dimensional presence achieved in Class A mode.

Choosing this amplifier brings pure dynamic authority and artisan New Zealand craftsmanship straight into your listening room. It breathes natural vitality into complex musical passages, presenting your favorite recordings with exquisite realism and profound emotional engagement.
