Product Highlights

The Pass Labs XP-15 phono preamplifier features versatile MM/MC cartridge capability with up to 76dB of balanced gain, dedicated balanced XLR and single-ended RCA connections, and precision RIAA equalization accurate to within 0.1dB. Serving as an uncompromising foundation for high-fidelity vinyl playback, it utilizes an ultra-low-noise solid-state architecture driven by a shielded internal toroidal transformer. Dual independent banks of rear DIP switches deliver comprehensive resistive loading from 5 ohms to 47k ohms alongside selectable capacitance, ensuring optimum electrical matching for delicate phono cartridges.

Critical consensus earned this preamplifier a Positive Feedback Writers Choice Award for its remarkable transparency and musicality. Reviewers from publications like Stereo Times celebrate its pitch-black background, which unearths subtle micro-details and layers instruments across a wide, cohesive soundstage. Critics routinely praise its rich midrange tonal color and explosive dynamic impact, noting that its organic presentation rivals the textural weight of vacuum tubes while preserving solid-state speed and precision.

Integrating this phono stage into your analog front end strips away background noise and exposes the authentic emotional core of every pressing. Its meticulous engineering extracts buried textures from deep within record grooves, delivering music with three-dimensional spatial depth, refined transient speed, and effortless authority.
