In recent years, the power and clarity of monaural recordings have been rediscovered, leading to a succession of reissues of classic albums. To bring out the full appeal of monaural records, Nagaoka developed the dedicated cartridges “MP-MONO” and “MP-MONO 1.0E.”
The Sonic Character Created by Different Stylus Tip Sizes

MP-MONO: Equipped as standard with a 0.7 mil stylus tip optimized for modern record cutting. It delivers a clear, well-defined sound image and high-resolution playback.
- MP-MONO 1.0E: Equipped as standard with the 1.0 mil stylus tip that was mainstream for monaural record playback in the 1940s and 1950s. This model reproduces rich low and mid-low frequencies along with a sense of air, pursuing a more authentic monaural experience.
