ModWright Instruments 845 DS SET Tube Monoblock Power Amplifiers

The ModWright 845 DS SET tube monoblock power amplifier delivers 32 watts in pure Class A. Engineered to anchor reference two-channel systems, this statement component captures the coveted acoustic purity of single-ended triodes alongside genuine real-world speaker drive. Its purist two-stage topology pairs an 845 direct-heated output triode with an extraordinary 6HV5 Compactron high-voltage beam driver running at a formidable 1200V plate potential. With only two tubes in the active signal path and zero global negative feedback, the circuitry eliminates phase smearing while preserving instantaneous transient speed and breathtaking micro-detail. Custom Electraprint output transformers, isolated choke-filtered power rails, point-to-point wiring, and proprietary ModWright capacitors are secured within an inert billet aluminum chassis that suppresses structural resonance.

The Absolute Sound bestowed its Most Significant Product Introduction award on the monoblock at its debut, celebrating its revolutionary leap in high-output single-ended design. Positive Feedback honored the amplifier with its Audio Oasis Award, with reviewers marveling at its expansive three-dimensional soundstage, holographic instrument separation, and seductive midband liquidity. Critical consensus consistently highlights its unique ability to shatter low-wattage SET stereotypes, praising the authoritative grip, articulate bass definition, and effortless dynamic headroom it maintains across demanding loudspeaker loads.

Welcoming these rare statement amplifiers into your setup means enjoying the full romantic magic of triode playback without sacrificing dynamic impact or loudspeaker versatility. Their uncompromising high-voltage architecture and artisan hand-built construction unlock every layer of your music with breathtaking scale, natural warmth, and visceral emotional realism.
