"The McIntosh XR50 is a compact 3-way bookshelf speaker engineered to deliver full-bodied, high-fidelity sound often associated with much larger floorstanders. Featuring a 6" polycone woofer with patented LD/HP® shorting circuit for deep, powerful bass, two 2" inverted dome midrange drivers, and a ¾" titanium dome tweeter, it covers a 40–45,000 Hz frequency range with 81 dB sensitivity and 8-ohm nominal impedance. Custom high-current crossovers with self-resetting PTC fuses ensure reliable performance, while the bass reflex cabinet and cross-braced, non-parallel design minimize internal resonances for precise, immersive sound.
Feeding the XR50's 75–300 watts per channel, the XR50 rewards listeners with a wide soundstage, detailed mids, and jaw-dropping bass. Its elegant lacquer gloss finish, magnetic cloth grills, and rigid, non-resonant driver baskets make it as visually striking as it is sonically impressive."
