Magnepan 2.7i Floorstanding Speakers

Magnepan 2.7i delivers a frequency response and frequency range spanning 40 Hz to 30,000 Hz, reaching cleanly down to 40 Hz, paired with an 86 dB sensitivity, a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, and recommended high-current amplification stable into 4-ohm loads. Designed as an elegant three-way floorstanding loudspeaker, this planar-magnetic dipole combines quasi-ribbon bass and midrange drivers with a dedicated forty-inch true ribbon tweeter. By eliminating traditional box enclosures, it reproduces instruments and vocals with an expansive, free-breathing realism and instantaneous transient response that typical cabinet speakers simply cannot match.

Critical consensus and audiophile feedback praise the speaker for offering reference-grade transparency, an exceptionally deep soundstage, and pure midrange coherence. Listeners consistently highlight the true ribbon tweeter for its airy, fatigue-free high-frequency extension that unveils subtle micro-details without harshness. While reviews emphasize that these panels demand generous room placement and robust amplification to fully realize their authoritative, articulate bass, owners celebrate their long-term build quality and the renowned reliability synonymous with American planar engineering.

Experiencing your favorite recordings through such an unconstrained dipole design reveals layers of nuance, lifelike scale, and delicate texture that pull you straight into the recording venue. For listeners craving true ribbon magic and full-range holographic imaging in a footprint tailored for real-world spaces, this loudspeaker transforms every listening session into an unforgettable performance.
