Product Highlights

Specs: 2 x 6922 dual triodes, Class A dual mono topology, zero global negative feedback, 21 dB gain, 5 Hz – 200 kHz frequency response, 50 kΩ input / 900 Ω output impedance, 5 RCA inputs, and RCA/XLR outputs. The Lab12 Pre1 is a handcrafted pure analog preamplifier engineered for ultimate clarity and dynamic realism. Built with four-stage per-channel power regulation, a toroidal transformer, and an ALPS Blue Velvet potentiometer, it preserves total signal purity. Its low output impedance effortlessly drives both tube and solid-state power amps, complete with a quick one-minute warm-up and remote control.

Reviews highlight the Pre1 for its exceptionally quiet background and transparent, detailed sonic delivery. Critics praise its ability to combine tube fluidity with solid-state speed, offering tight bass response, an expansive three-dimensional soundstage, and articulate micro-detail without adding unwanted coloration or fatigue. Reviewers consistently note its robust build quality, precise volume tracking, and ability to perform well beyond its price class across various system setups.

For listeners seeking the harmonic richness of valves without sacrificing timing, speed, or neutral dynamics, this preamplifier serves as the perfect system anchor. Its flexible line inputs, balanced XLR output, and low-noise dual-mono architecture allow high-end sources to shine, making it an essential upgrade for any refined audio setup.
