Product Highlights

The Fostex TH-909 open-back reference headphones feature 50mm Biodyna bio-cellulose drivers, a 1.5 Tesla magnetic circuit, 25-ohm impedance, 100dB sensitivity, and a 5Hz to 45kHz frequency response. These flagship open-back cans elevate high-resolution systems by projecting an expansive, three-dimensional acoustic soundstage. Built with Japanese Cherry Birch earcups finished in traditional Bordeaux Urushi lacquer, the housing incorporates dual-layer metal grilles to damp unwanted resonance while allowing air to flow freely. A detachable 7N-grade oxygen-free copper cable ensures pristine, low-loss signal transmission across all source components.

Critical consensus praises the TH-909 for blending the visceral, authoritative bass impact of closed-back models with extraordinary spatial openness and detail resolution. Reviewers across major head-fi outlets highlight its sweet midrange, fatigue-free treble, and fast transient response across dense musical passages. Widely celebrated in audiophile circles, it consistently earns high praise for merging traditional Japanese lacquerwork with reference-grade acoustic design.

Integrating this headphone into your setup transforms daily listening into an immersive, studio-grade musical experience. Its effortless resolution and organic tonal balance allow subtle nuances to emerge with captivating realism and dynamic weight. For the dedicated enthusiast, it represents a definitive centerpiece for deep, uncompromised audio enjoyment.
