Merging the best aspects of our esteemed Master Reference and Statement models, the Innovation Wood elevates audio performance to unprecedented heights, setting a new standard for the Clearaudio sound and serving as the cornerstone for our Master Innovation turntable.
This turntable boasts a dual-layered, resonance-minimized Tri-star chassis, deriving its innovative three-point design from our 1990s Master Reference model. It incorporates state-of-the-art materials, blending Panzerholz (bulletproof wood), aluminum exteriors, and several aluminum pods, as first seen in our original Statement turntable.
Marking a first for Clearaudio, the Innovation Wood introduces a high-density polymer platter that combines a dynamically balanced 2.75″ POM platter with a stainless steel sub-platter, meticulously CNC-machined to half an inch thick. This design achieves both a speed-stabilizing inertial effect and mass damping. It also features an enhanced version of Clearaudio’s patented CMB (ceramic magnetic bearing), enabling the platter to magnetically levitate above an inverted bearing linked to a polished ceramic shaft, employing powerful magnets and specialized shielding for unparalleled stability.
Another innovation is its high-torque 24v DC motor, integrated with an OSC (optical speed control) system, regulated in real-time by an infrared sensor and a strobe ring affixed to the stainless-steel flywheel sub-platter. Optimal performance is attainable with the Smart Power 24v battery supply, culminating in a sound that is exceptionally musical, rich in detail, and remarkable in its rhythm and pace accuracy.
Available in either black or silver anodized finishes, with options for natural or piano black lacquered Panzerholz cores, and custom color lacquers like red or white as personalized enhancements. The Innovation Wood typically pairs with our Universal 12” tonearm but supports dual-tonearm configurations or the superior TT-1MI tangential tonearm. It offers the possibility of an upgrade to the Master Innovation model and makes an impressive visual and sonic statement when displayed on our Olympus stand.
