Product Highlights

All caps have been replaced.

The Classe Audio DR-5L is a high-end solid-state line-stage preamplifier featuring true balanced Swiss-made gold-plated XLR inputs and outputs, gold-plated Tiffany RCA jacks, and a massive internal toroidal power supply with 73,200 microfarads of filter capacitance. Designed to serve as an uncompromising control center for reference audio systems, this component utilizes founder David Reich's ultra-quiet circuit architecture and high-current output buffer topology. The heavy-gauge full-size chassis incorporates an internal metal partition to isolate electrical noise, an output impedance of less than 1 ohm, and classic aluminum front rack handles.

Critical consensus praises the unit for its exceptional transparency, wide holographic soundstage, and dead-silent background noise floor. Industry reviewers highlight how its refined solid-state circuitry delivers the rich tonal warmth and harmonic decay of fine tube preamplifiers without sacrificing speed or dynamic impact. Audiophiles frequently applaud its ability to resolve delicate low-level micro-details while providing effortless drive and stability for any downstream power amplifier.

Integrating this preamplifier into your signal chain eliminates high-frequency harshness, establishing a pristine and deeply immersive musical foundation. For the passionate enthusiast, it provides a timeless blend of artisan construction and true reference-level performance that brings fresh clarity to your favorite recordings.
