Product Highlights

The Cary Audio Design SLP-98P is a pure Class A vacuum tube stereo preamplifier equipped with an outboard power supply, four line-level inputs, and an integrated MM/MC phono stage. Serving as an expressive anchor for discerning analog setups, this component commands source signals with remarkable tonal weight and holographic spatial separation. Built with meticulous point-to-point hand wiring in North Carolina, the circuit operates with zero global feedback to preserve subtle harmonic overtones and transient snap. Its tube complement utilizes four 6SN7 dual triodes in the line stage alongside a dedicated phono section powered by two 12AX7 and two 12AU7 tubes, while the isolated external power chassis effectively banishes electrical hum.

Critical consensus secured its standing across the industry when Stereophile named the unit a Class A Recommended Component. Outlets including Home Theater Review and Positive Feedback consistently applaud its rich, palpable midrange texture and immense, deep soundstage. Reviewers also praise the built-in phono section for its remarkably quiet noise floor and vibrant dynamic drive across every variety of vinyl playback.

Integrating this handcrafted tube preamplifier into your audio system infuses every track with organic warmth, effortless clarity, and lifelike physical presence. By bridging vintage triode musicality with pristine modern engineering, it establishes an enduring sonic foundation for deeply satisfying daily listening sessions.
