Aurorasound EQ-100 MM/MC Phono Equalizer

Aurorasound EQ-100 is an adaptive multi-curve phono equalizer amplifier featuring precision TAKMAN resistors, German WIMA and Japanese polypropylene capacitors, Burr-Brown OPA627 and Linear Technology LT1028 op-amps, and a toroidal transformer power supply. Utilizing Japanese rotary switches from ALPS, OMRON, and NKK rather than wear-prone potentiometers, it offers ten turnover and ten roll-off settings for one hundred distinct equalization curves. The unit accommodates moving magnet, moving coil, and variable reluctance cartridges to faithfully decode pre-RIAA, Columbia, Decca, and 78rpm recordings, while an internal cancellation circuit strips out vertical noise when using stereo cartridges to isolate a pure horizontal signal.

Critical acclaim and user consensus praise the EQ-100 for its exceptional sonic fidelity, dark backgrounds, and rock-solid reliability. Reviewers celebrate its organic midrange, tight bass articulation, and uncanny ability to bring historical vinyl and shellac vividly to life without the stridency caused by standard RIAA curves. Audiophiles consistently applaud designer Shinobu Karaki's meticulous craftsmanship and note that eliminating vertical groove chatter yields a dramatic reduction in surface noise, unveiling delicate micro-dynamics and hall acoustics previously lost to time.

For the dedicated vinyl archivist and analog connoisseur, this equalizer transforms vintage records into breathtaking, immediate musical performances. By restoring the precise curves intended by original mastering engineers, it unlocks the genuine tonal realism and emotional impact of golden-age recordings, making it a definitive upgrade for any historic collection.
