Klipsch Cornwall Vintage Speakers; "Decorator" Raw Birch Finish 1976

This is a rare and beautiful set of original 1976 Klipsch Cornwall Speakers in a beautiful birch finish. These have matching serial numbers of 9P667 and 9P669. These are the ulta-rare "C-D" version also known as the "Decorator" versions with the beautiful raw birch on the front and rear profiles.

These were manufactured in 1976 which corresponds with the letter "P" in the serial number sequence on the manufacturer's tag and stamped into the rear top profile of the speaker box (only speakers pre-dating 1980 will have the serial # stamped in the plywood). To date a vintage klipsch speaker, pre-1980, you begin with the year 1962 for the letter "A" and advance accordingly, however, you'll need to omit the letters Q,V, and Z (they were not used in the designation).

These speakers are in perfect working order... all original. They've always been driven with low-wattage tube amplification. The drivers are all perfect except one cone has a little bit of discoloration. It looks like someone wiped with a damp rag using hard water or maybe too strong of a cleaning solution. The cosmetic condition is excellent... no rips or stains in the grill cloth and both of the Klipsch badges are intact. The gorgeous finish is not 100% flawless, but it does look outstanding overall. Previous owner is a meticulous collector that had them covered in soft sheets when not in use. There are a couple of little nicks at the back bottom corners and a couple of very small scuff marks on the left side of one cabinet. Overall appearance is absolutely great - especially considering that these are 37 years old. They've had an easy life. See photos for details.
