Anthony Gallo Nucleus Reference 3 Floorstanding Speakers

These gorgeous speaker truly do sound as magnificent as they look. I feel that speaker design can becomes so predictable sometimes... MDF boxes and generic components pieced together and painted pretty with an overpriced brand name... it's amazing how many times the same speaker designs can be recycled and re-brande, and people keep buying it. Excuse my cynicism, but I see a lot of different products... and here is one that really, really caught my eyes... and my ears. A truly original design that truly works. Notes seem to float in the air between these two towers forever. Incredibly transparent and extremely life like. Great imaging and a very realistic sound-stage. For starters, you will think you are listening to a speaker twice the size... and twice the price. These speaker are impressive in every way even at their original price tag of $3200. At this price they are a no-brainer.

I am listening to the speakers as I write this, and they are working perfectly. I can not detect even a hint of distortion or unwanted cabinet resonance. They are solid and working like new. The only exception to this is that the tweeter level switch has been removed from one speaker. The switch was physically broken from the back so rather than repair it, the previous owner just bypassed it internally. This has absolutely no negative impact on the performance of these speakers. Just set the other speaker to neutral and make any needed tweeter adjustments with your preamp or processor.

Cosmetic condition of the speakers is excellent but not quite perfect. The right speaker has one very tiny hole in the grill cloth at the very top horizontal "rail". This is not very noticeable (especially if you don't use the grills!) The left speaker has one tiny nick along the top, right edge of the black base. Again, it is just barely noticeable under close examination. From your listening position, these speakers look like new.
