Cosmetic Description: 8/10 Excellent condition with minimal visible cosmetic wear including two tiny nicks on the top edge of the front faceplate, and a small scratch on the left side of the unit, near the top rear corner. Outstanding condition overall - the condition will please even the most discerning audiophile.

Service History: Rebuilt, cleaned, and fully calibrated in July 2016 at Willy Hermann Services in California. Transport mechanism replaced as well as belts and idlers, tested to specs.

Other Notes: "Nakamichi's auto-calibration system is "radically new" for cassette, but in fact is identical to the calibration process as used on professional reel-to-reel machines where the first step in calibrating a machine for recording is to align the azimuth. The flow chart below for the Nakamichi Auto Calibration is comparable to a "quick alignment" on a reel-to-reel deck. A full alignment on a reel-to-reel deck would involve more test tones or a frequency sweep, and a few more iterations of EQ adjustment.
